Emergency Dental Care Services

Crown Detachment

If your crown becomes displaced, try coating the inside with drug store dental cement, toothpaste, or denture adhesive. If this fails to hold it in place, schedule an appointment with your dentist to reattach the crown.

Dislodged Tooth

In the event your tooth gets knocked out, there are precautions you can take as you wait for emergency services. Start by rinsing off the tooth, taking care not to remove the attached tissue. Next, try reinserting the tooth. If that creates pain or discomfort, place the tooth in a glass of milk and visit a dentist as soon as possible.

Broken or Chipped Tooth

After suffering a broken or chipped tooth, rinse out your mouth with warm water to flush out any remaining fragments. If you’re bleeding, attach a piece of gauze to the wounded area until the blood flow ceases. To prevent swelling, place an ice pack against the traumatized area and schedule an appointment with your dentist immediately.

Dislodged Filling

To temporarily adhere the filling to the tooth, press sugarless gum into the cavity or coat the filling with over-the-counter dental cement and place it against the tooth. Once this is complete, schedule an appointment with a dentist straight away.

Broken Braces and/or Wiring

If broken orthodontics are irritating your mouth, try using an eraser to push the wire into a different position. You can also cover the exposed wire tip with wax, a cotton ball, or gauze to prevent chafing. Contact your orthodontist as soon as possible to realign your wires.
